Bubba cooks! Bubba is Christopher Clerc and it seems that if Southern California has roadhouses, this is the band you would want to find there. If you live in Southern California and have not seen these guys you are going to the wrong bars. Go see them, buy their fine CD and maybe they will get enough going to make it to the East Coast where their cool sound will be welcomed. This is a good debut CD by a band from whom we should be hearing more big things.  ( More+ )

The leader sings his original "Black Clouds" with a passion of a man who's been there. His guitar agrees with the song's message, as it converses with the lyrics in empathy. Clerc's tenor voice wails and moans with a ferocity that makes you believe up front. His superior guitar conversations drive the point home. The band has been together now for some ten years, performing locally. The audio samples make you wonder: what took so long for this self titled album to come out?  ( More+ )

I am totally and completely blown away by the pure power of this artist. This guy will rock the Blues world right off their feet. Where has he been hiding? A sonic boom of blues that will knock your socks off and leave you shouting for more!  The world may have a new BLUES KING in the making.  ( More+ )

If you don’t live on the west coast you may not be familiar with Bubba and the Big Bad Blues, I think this CD may change that. Bubba’s inaugural CD is a real eye opener, or should I say, ear opener. You can hear the influence of others with out hearing a cover tune, you can get a feel for where this music comes from, and who it honors, but it sounds new and fresh. - Chris Puyear  ( More+ )

Ripping through a batch of high-powered blues and rock is Christopher Clerc AKA Bubba and the Big Bad Blues. Hailing from the L.A. basin these smog-infected boys know how to deliver the blues. Bubba handles the lead singing and guitar playing with cool finesse bopping all over the blues map, from slow hand rhythms on tunes like "Black Clouds" to New Orleans style shuffles on "Gimme Some Beads," and everywhere in between. From the sound of things, their live show should be worth it. - Bruce Coen  ( More+ )
